CIRCUMSCRIBE, 2014
Japanese watercolor on paper
9 x 12 inches

Rarely conceived as preliminary plans or sketches, Cooper's watercolor and ink works on paper happen either alongside or after a more time-consuming sculptural or textural work. They are a way of stepping back to consider the larger works and create a dialogue with them – while making a new work at the same time.
